This first photo is an overview of the fold-out page that I created for the week. One page could not capture all that I am grateful for this week. We have had a LOT of snow. Marq and I celebrated the beginning of the Christmas break and danced in the kitchen to Michael Buble’s rendition of Let it Snow. I entertained myself with our tiny live Christmas tree that may be slightly overburdened with lights. We wrapped up the week with the light display at Green Bay Botanical Garden light show and with dropping off my artwork for the show at Hatch Art House http://hatcharthouse.com/call-for-artists-ecosquared-art-show-2014/.

I used the Christmas card that I ordered from Fine Art America (click on picture to order your own!) to make a pocket to hold pictures, notes, and ephemera from the week of Dec. 15-21. I hope you enjoy what ever holiday you are celebrating. I am glad that the sun is coming back around our way! Happy Solstice and Merry Christmas!

Crazy Quilt Selfie

This has been an amazing week. Yesterday this self-portrait and 2 other pieces were accepted for a juried exhibit at an art gallery in Madison, WI. I have also been nominated for 2 blogging awards. I am so grateful to all the encouragement and support and inspiration I have received in so many ways throughout 2013. Thank you for stopping by my blog and sharing some of your lifetime with me.

Call for Artists

I have been getting upcycled art pieces ready for a juried show in Madison and it inspired me to use my Thanksgiving book to finish out the year. So each week I am using one page. Here is the page for the week ending today. It has been one of visual and audio arts. It has been super cold (the weather outside has been frightful!) and the kitchen has been so delightful. This year I have been making more cookies than I have in quite a while. Also, I am so happy with the collage pieces that I have finished at the kitchen table. You can see some of them in this collage.

I have also been working with the Director of our local Seippel Arts Center for a Gratitude Retreat we will hold in February. Marq and Mike have been singing and playing so much lovely music.

This is a week’s worth of gratitude journaling.

Here is my page from the first week in December. I really enjoyed the process of layering the handwritten journal entries. It made it easier to just write what was on my mind without having to think about editing or illustrating.

One of my favorite traditions that we have in our family is Game Day. The Friday after Thanksgiving we invite friends and family over for vegetarian chili and fun. We play board games, cards, and electronic games. Friends bring new games to share and this year we encountered Jungle Speed – SO Much Fun! It was such a wonderful day.

Meditation Collages Have Moved!

I had a page for my meditation collages, but I have decided to make it a category for regular posts. As I am learning more about WordPress, I will continue to make adjustments. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
