I took this week’s Diva Challenge in a different direction. I have been playing around with different flower images for a mediation collage. Embroidery and Zentangle have seemed like natural synthesis and when I saw that Rain was the Tangle pattern selected for this week it seemed like a great place to start. I’m not sure how flower-like it turned out, but I am very happy with the experiment overall. The gratitude journal page that this will be part of will continue my flower study, but in the meantime, here is Purple Rain. (BTW – this is also the title of an album by the artist formerly known as Prince that I LOVED as a young person and still enjoy).

Unique way to address this challenge. Can see why you are pleased with it. Have not done any embroidery, but can see how it would blend well with tangling. Interested to see what else you come up with.
Thanks for the kind words. I like your use of the spiral string and the transition from using Rain as a border to incorporating it into the spiral. I have never used a spiral string. I really like the way it looks and will need to keep it in mind. I have been so inspired by the creativity that is generated by the Diva Challenges. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and comment!
I like your interpretation and that your thinking is outside the box.
Box? What box? ha ha. Thanks! I hope you have a great day and all is well with you today.
Ha ah! My back is great today. I think the voltaren removed all the inflammation and I feel wonderful.
Lovely! And so very different of all others.
thanks for stopping and sharing the kind words!
very cool. I like this interpretation and making it purple rocks.
Hey thanks! It is part of my flower study for a larger collage, but it later came to me that Purple Rain is also the name of a record album (yes, I’m old) by Prince. “I only wanted to see you laughing in the purple rain.”
What a beautiful piece! And so different from anything else I’ve seen. Nice job taking it a new direction.
Thanks for stopping and the kind words. I love your fun interpretation of this tangle!
Gorgeous!
Thanks for the kind comment.
