This is my mandala that incorporates 3 things I wanted to include. The first is the Diva’s Challenge to use the new tangle pattern called Skye (the outside Celtic part of the mandala). The second is Kathryn Costa’s instructions on how to draw a 3-coil Celtic spiral from page 57 of her new book, The Mandala Guidebook. The third is to do something to honor the people who have served in the military on Memorial Day. I hope you have a beautiful day.
Lovely piece of art. I have yet to try Skye in a circle (must do, must do).
It really lends itself well to circles. I’m always on the lookout for Zentangle patterns that I can use in my mandalas.
I think your Skye is beautiful!!!!
Thanks! I really love this pattern. I have ideas for using it in a larger mandala I have been dreaming up. It is interesting which tangles people like. I admire your persistence with the challenge, even if you are not a huge fan of the pattern!
I love the way the patterns, colors, and print interact. It’s beautiful work.
Thank you! I keep packing up books and finding more that would be fun to use in art so I’m trying to use them. Maybe I should try to do a page a day!
It might serve to distract you from some of the negative effects of the move – a little calm refuge in the middle of upheaval? At least that is how I find art, in my everyday life!
Wow! You really got Skye down! Beautiful tile!
Thanks! I have done some Celtic style drawing before and I’m really in love with it. The 100 Mandala’s challenge host is an excellent teacher of how to do Celtic drawing.
I like how you combined all the different elements into the one. I especially like the printed page background.
Beautiful work, Jeanette, and I love the words in the background. Art is such a healer and it will comfort you during this time, I agree with Claudia totally! ❤
Great tile. Skye is not easy in the circle border!
Pretty!!
Love your Zendala and the colors! You did a great job of drawing a ‘not easy’ tangle….especially in the round!! Like your printed background too!! :O)
omigosh! I love every thing about this piece:-D
I am so impressed with the level of thought that went into this, as well as the quality of the drawing. Excellent work.
