Some of my favorite blooms in the NYBG were made of glass at the Dale Chihuly glass studio. Like this one.
Crazy Beautiful.
Looking at the glass as it was reflected and illuminated and ornamented with fauna was glorious. I believe the pictures speak for themselves. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!
This is another one of my favorites.
I hope you have a beautiful day.
What a fabulous glass exhibit. Your photos are stunning.
Donna
Thank you. It was a stunning kind of a day!
Wonderful! And beautifully photographed. The second image with the halo of blue sky around the top of the piece is terrific.
I was sitting on the ground in front of that yellow and red icicles piece watching the clouds interact with the piece and could have stayed there for hours! My husband was very patient with me and let me sit for quite a while before becoming restless. I’m hoping we can go back on a different kind of weather day.
You made me happy with these pictures !! I LOVE chihuly !!!!
I love him too. I have seen his work in a number of different environments and I have to say that this was my favorite exhibit by far. This whole day made me happy, too! I’m so glad to share that with you!
I saw a few of his works when we were in Arizona last year.
Wow. Photos and glass. Wow.
I know. Right! We had been dithering about going on Wednesday or Friday and checking the weather and both days had a chance of rain. The cloud display really enhanced my experience of the glass and the gardens. I’m thinking stormy weather days may be the best days to go! If you can get to NYC this summer I really recommend a day at NYBG.
Interesting. I would have thought full sun would have been the best weather.
That’s what I thought, too, but so much more interesting this way!
Amazing! Great pictures! I have noticed, too, that pictures in straight sunlight do not quite frequently come out in the best way. Cloudy and slightly overcast allows to get better pictures because the sunlight is extremely strong and without filters, it can cause some parts being totally washed out.
Plus I think clouds are more interesting that a solid blue sky.

I don’t generally post my photography on this blog, but I think I will share my art observations. This Chihuly exhibit at New York Botanical Garden was really wonderful and I recommend it to anyone going to New York City this summer/fall.

What an amazing experience, Jeanette. I would have been in photographic heaven. Just the idea of glass flora sculptures interacting with nature is wondrous. Loved your post. ❤
Thank you, Olga. It really was heavenly!
