Living close to New York City has many advantages. One of them is the proximity of world class medical care. Tuesday I met with the doctor who is going to do my surgery for endometriosis. I’m so grateful to have found her and I am feeling really hopeful. She wants me to do a lot to get ready for surgery including figuring out what dietary changes I need to make to improve my bladder and bowel problems, physical therapy to calm the muscle spasms throughout my abdomen, and a few more tests to make sure we know what all we are dealing with. I know this says Thursday Doors and if you are new to my blog you are probably wondering when I’m going to get to the door! This was on the way from the parking garage to her office. We are hoping to enjoy a little bit of the city around the appointments, but mostly I’m in too much pain and exhausted. So I’ll just have to keep my eyes open for gems like this one!
Thursday Doors is a weekly feature allowing door lovers to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos from around the world. For more door photographs check out Norm 2.0.
Wow. That handle just makes you want to pet it. And I am keeping fingers crossed and thinking good thoughts for you.
I feel the same way about the handle. Thanks for the thoughts too!
Very stealthy.
With endiometrosis you would want to have a good and understanding doc! One of my friends went through it. Hope you will feel much better after a while!!
Thanks. I’m actually already having some improvements with changes in my diet, but that’s also part of the exhaustion. I can pretty much eat only whole, organic foods that I prepare myself. And I have whole new categories of food I can’t eat. The upside of this is I have lost weight, stopped needing medication for acid reflux and allergies. I’m feeling optimistic about how much healing this way of eating is for me. That helps when I want chocolate.
Yay, the less pharmaceutical meds the better! Am excited for you! You probably could have the 72% chocolate …?
At this point nothing on the “maybe someday” list, including any chocolate. But I found a cake mix yesterday that I can jazz up with some coconut and caramel for a sweet treat that is only helpful foods.
Already for a few years I have gone over to making desserts from scratch, because it’s only way to know what’s in it. Careful with cake mixes, unless it comes from a healthfood store:) Wishing you success on your food journey!
Thanks. Best wishes to you too.
Great door. Your positivity will get you through that surgery.
Thanks. I think this medical team and my determination and positive psychology work will turn my life around.
That is is gorgeous door, especially the handle of course. It sounds like you are in good hands on the medical front. Here’s hoping for continued improvement and a positive outcome 🙂
Thanks, Norm. That handle really wowed me.
If it wasn’t for the handle, I probably wouldn’t notice there was a door there! Not sure if the occupant/resident wants to be seen or not…
Interesting observation. I think you may have a point, but that handle just screams out to be touched, doesn’t it.
It certainly does!
