I like worn out old doors. Here are some barn doors that I found in my exploration of the Great Swamp of New Jersey. I bet you didn’t know we had a great swamp. It is prettier than the name suggests. I will definitely be going back.

I have had quite a few medical appointments in New York City in the last month or so and I have some photos to share in a Which Way post for Cee’s challenge.

bridge

This was an early morning appointment and looking back at the George Washington bridge and the towers of housing in New Jersey. The sun on these 2 buildings was really lovely in the early morning.

Which way central park

This was a different appointment. It was after one of the many Nor’easter storms we have been having. Central Park in the snow was magical.

Last night and this morning I went to the Frelinghuysen Arboretum and took pictures of leaves and flowers. I like to see what the difference in light does for the photo. I also took pictures of my hydrangeas. These flank my front door.

I like how different these look. To me, the top one is about the interaction between light and blooms and the bottom one is more about the textures of the flower. I hope you have a beautiful day.

I hope you enjoy this rose from the New York Botanical Garden. Tomorrow I’m off on a new adventure and won’t have access to my computer until next Monday. I hope you have a beautiful week. In the meantime, get lots of flower photos from Cee’s Flower of the Day posts.

rose and sky

I have been debating about doing one post on the Rose Garden from the New York Botanical Garden or doing a series of posts featuring individual flowers. The weather was interesting without getting wet and it made for fabulous photography. So I’m going to feature individual roses for a few days and then do a post with the rest. It was almost overwhelming to be surrounded by such visual and fragrant beauty. I wish I could have roses here, but it would just be a buffet for the deer. So enjoy as I share the beauty of the NYBG Rose Garden. For more beautiful flowers check out Cee’s Flower of the Day.

This morning I got up early and went to the Frelinghuysen Arboretum. I have so many flower and tree photos to share! I’m going to try to do one a day for the next few days.

I have been seeing these lovely blooms all over and didn’t know what they were until this morning. I think I want some of these rhododendrons for my yard, too. I love this little landscape at the arboretum.

This house is in the Frelinghuysen Arboretum just a few miles from our house. This place is so gorgeous with spring busting out all over. I may do more than one Thursday Doors doorscursion of this place.

It has doors all the way around it.

The bottom and side photos are doors that lead into the rose garden, which is still taking its winter nap. Here is some history of the place.

I had a fun photo shoot with some daffodils yesterday.

I like how the focus on the second flower makes it seem as if it is peaking out from that brash and unfocused front flower. If you want to see more lovely blooms check out Cee’s Flower of the Day posts. She has some outdoor daffodils for your viewing pleasure.

I hope you have a beautiful day.
