Thursday Doors is a weekly feature allowing door lovers to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos from around the world. It is hosted by Norm 2.0.

I hope you enjoy my Thursday Doors post from the Cherry Blossom Festival last weekend. We drove past this church on the way to the park and I had to come get some door pictures. It is really a lovely old building.

These are photos from the shady side of the Cathedral. This is the side I approached the church on and it was a lovely introduction to the architecture. I loved the lines of the side door and its archways.

Then I came around to the front and the amount of detail blew me away. You may have noticed that I like fancy things. Especially when flowers are part of it and these cherry trees were the icing on this fancy scene.

Here are some close up shots of the 3 sets of front doors and a few of the front as a whole. It was such a beautiful day to be taking photographs!

The sunny side of the church had some more cherry trees and this lovely “basement” door. It was tucked away from street view, but I thought it was beautiful, too.

church and blossoms

Here is a photo that seems just right for Easter Sunday. This is the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, NJ as seen from Branch Brook Park. More pictures of this coming on Thursday!

There were some trees at the Cherry Blossom Festival with really gorgeous shapes that weren’t full of blooms, but I loved them nonetheless. I hope you do too. These are my entry into Becca’s Sunday Trees Challenge.

On our way to Wisconsin last week we stopped at the Baha’i House of Worship in Chicago. I had wanted to go there for ages and I’m so glad we did.

Here is a photo with a robin and a security guard and a reflection in the fountain.

The details of the building are so beautiful. And so are the doorways.

Church, Church doors, Morristown, Norm 2.0, Presbyterian Church, Stone building, Stone church, Thursday Doors

Here is a tour of the outside of the Presbyterian Church of Morristown, NJ. It is one of our most beautiful churches and it is right on the Green in the center of town. This makes it a little challenging to photograph. The doors on this church aren’t particularly fantastic, but the stonework of the building and the arches on the doors are so lovely to me. I hope you enjoy my selections.

I hope to go inside it one of these days. One of the things I really love about it is this chapel that is beautiful all on its own.

This is my belated Thursday Doors post. This week I’m featuring the United Methodist Church. It is on the Green in the center of town and it has lovely doors and windows all encased in gorgeous stonework.
