I hope you will check out my latest mandala. I’m having problems with my WordPress account across platforms and apologize for what appears to be a failure to participate.

The only way to get this coloring page is to order one of my other pages from Etsy. I will send you this page as a thank you gift.
The orange and blue bookmark is a diptych – the 2 halves mirror each other. This was an interesting challenge and fun to do. Check out other tangled diptychs at the Diva’s Blog.

100 Mandalas, acrylic paint, collage, Derwent Inktense, inspiration, Watercolor pencils, Zentangles, ZIA
Got a start on my Mother’s Day Cards.
Added some Derwent Inktense to the Zentangle® Inspired Art. Not sure if its done yet.
After this I was really itching to do some collage. I’m going to do another painting redo. I got too busy to show you how my last one turned out.
The original painting from a class I took was a sunset winter landscape in shades of blue and orange/yellow – not really my style, but nice enough. I did some collage on top and then added a tissue paper mandala and did some embellishing and here it is. It is getting toward what I want. I learned a little about doing detailed drawing on tissue paper and then putting it on a colorful background – it gets totally muddled. In any case I’m counting it as mandala #40.
So here is the first step of my next try. I have a landscape that I started, but it didn’t go quite right.
So now I’m off to collage over this. I hope you have a beautiful day!

100 Mandalas, acrylic paint, art, Artist Trading Cards, ATCs, Mandala, Zendala, Zentangles, ZIA
So, I’m teaching a mandala drawing class next weekend and I decided to make some ATCs (Artist Trading Cards). I was inspired by my friend Claudia McGill, she makes fantastic ATCs and she sent me some in the mail.
Here is my first batch of ATCs and then the process I used to create them!
Start your day with Shredded Wheat, or if you are gluten intolerant as I am, you start it with the empty box! I collaged paper onto it with matte medium and some blue and yellow acrylic paint. Then I added some more paint.
And some more paint.
Then I mixed up a glaze of white acrylic paint, matte medium and water and made a nice smooth surface to draw on.
Then I drew on it! And cut it up into ATC’s! Thanks Claudia for your inspiration.
Let’s make something beautiful!

Here are 10 more Peace and Paisley cards. I plan to make 30 in all. It has been a great process to make this series. For more information about the process and the first 10 cards see my post from yesterday here.
I have uploaded one of the cards to Fine Art America if you want to purchase a set to use for your Christmas cards.

Posted Draw a Bird Day
inToday is Draw a Bird Day! The 8th of every month is Draw a Bird Day and it is hosted by Laura at Create Art Everyday. I generally prefer a fanciful, rather than a realistic bird. This is getting close to what I have in mind. I will keep practicing! This was created using Pigma Micron pens and Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils. I used 4 Zentangle patterns to decorate my bird, Finery, Footlights, C-six, and Candleglow. For more tangle patterns go to TanglePatterns. For more information about Zentangle see Rick and Maria at Zentangle.com.
