We planted quite a few iris last fall that are from my husband’s father, who passed away in November. My father-in-law was an active member of the Iris society and collected a variety of unusual and beautiful iris. He shared them with us once we got our first house and his bulbs have decorated our homes ever since. This is the only one that has bloomed this year, but I look forward to seeing what blooms they have in store for us next year.

What a beautiful memorial for your father-in-law. Such a gorgeous shade of deep purple. I used to pick wild irises on the side of the road, but they were a lighter shade. Spectacular floral photography! ❤
